Garden Production Studio, Hampshire
The Brief
A Portsmouth-based musician and music teacher who came to us having already been through the process once before. We designed a space engineered for professional music production, acoustically treated to create a neutral critical listening environment - crucial for recording and mixing audio. The brief called for a studio that could serve both as a production environment and a teaching space — two uses that demand the same thing from a room: an honest frequency response, and significantly reduced sound transmission from the exterior to interior.
The Build
We specified and delivered our previous flagship model, the Pro - recently being replaced by our more advanced SB-4 specification. The exterior is finished in a stunning green James Hardie fibre cement clad, a material chosen for its exceptional durability and clean, contemporary appearance.
Internally, we fitted a GIK Acoustics treatment plan throughout, including custom bass trapping to the corners, ensuring the acoustic control of the room.
The Result
Ben's studio now serves as both a professional production studio and a dedicated music teaching space — a dual-use environment that performs consistently across both demands. The GIK acoustic treatment plan, combined with the custom bass trap installation, delivers the low-frequency accuracy and neutral response that serious production and teaching work requires.
