Drum Studio Build, London

The Brief

Trevor needed a dedicated drum room at home in urban London — a properly engineered acoustic space capable of containing a full kit at full volume in a residential setting. The brief called for serious sound isolation, and a treated interior that would make the room enjoyable to play in.

The Build

We specified and delivered an SB-4 at 6 metres by 3.5 metres — a footprint that gives a drummer genuine room to work in. The build sits on a concrete base and is clad in our Lunawood thermally treated timber cladding, our upgraded exterior finish, chosen for its exceptional dimensional stability and striking natural appearance.

The double door system features two independent door assemblies: a UPVC outer door with glazed panel, for a natural - traditional garden room aesthetic - and our upgraded acoustic steel door as the inner — an airlock arrangement that closes the acoustic envelope at its most vulnerable point.

Inside, GIK acoustic treatment throughout brings the room under control — managing early reflections and decay time to create a space that sounds as considered as it performs. Integrated air conditioning keeps the room comfortable through extended sessions regardless of the season, a practical necessity for any serious playing environment.

The Result

Eddie has a full-size, high performance engineered drum room at the end of his urban London garden. The concrete base, decoupled wall system, acoustic door airlock, and GIK treatment combine to deliver isolation and acoustic performance that most drum room and studios within London simply cannot accomodate.

For drummers and musicians across London looking for a garden drum room built to a professional acoustic specification, Eddie's build demonstrates what the SB-4 delivers at a footprint that works for serious playing.
