Production and Writing Studio Build, Kent
The Brief
André is a Kent-based producer and writer who needed a dedicated studio space at home — one that could handle serious production and writing work at any hour, without the constraints that come with living in close proximity to neighbours - common in suburban and urban environments. With the proposed site sitting within 10 metres of neighbouring dwellings, making acoustic isolation an absolute priority.
The Build
We specified and delivered an SB-4, finished in our Thermowood timber clad — a clean, contemporary exterior that sits well in a suburban Kent garden and weathers gradually with minimal maintenance. The SB-4's performance-engineered decoupled wall system was the right specification for this site: a fully considered acoustic envelope designed to contain sound at the levels a working producer is often listening at, regardless of what's on the other side of the boundary.
The Result
André now produces and writes freely, at any time of day, without noise complaints and without compromise. For music producers, songwriters, and musicians across Kent and the south east considering a garden studio on a constrained suburban plot, André's build is a direct example of the high-spec performance of the SB-4, and how it performs in even the most tight boundaries like those seen in densely populated, urban environments.
